In order to better explore the new model and new path of teacher education in the new era, the School of Teacher Education of Minjiang University (hereinafter referred to as the School) was established in July 2018. The School is committed to cultivating “Future Teachers for Basic Education” for Fujian Province and Fuzhou City, integrating teaching, scientific research, management, and service, and striving to create an influential teacher pre-service training base and educational scientific research base.

The School consists of the General Office, Teaching and Research Office of Public Curriculum for Teacher Education, etc., with 4 full-time teachers mainly responsible for the education and teaching tasks of public courses such as Psychology, Pedagogy, and Teachers’ Spoken Language. Besides, the School also undertakes the language standardization as well as the training and testing of Mandarin for Minjiang University.

Following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully grasping and putting into practice the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the National Education Conference, and in accordance with the decision-making arrangements by University Party Committee and administration as well as the Minjiang University Action Plan for Building Characteristic Application-oriented University (2018-2020), the School has thought profoundly and explored ideas and methods for teacher education in the new era, and, adhering to the student-centered and output-oriented concept with continuous improvement, assisted all teachers’ majors to further revise the talent training plan, promoted the construction of the training platform for education and teaching skills of normal students, and organized the activities for training of normal students’ teacher ethics, providing guarantees for normal majors concerned to improve the quality of personnel training and to brace the certification of normal majors.
